1. Overview
This RTR Marketplace Privacy Policy specifically describes how Rent the Runway, Inc. and Rent the Runway Limited ("Rent the Runway", "we", or "us") collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process information about you when you access or use the RTR Marketplace, https://marketplace.renttherunway.com/ (“RTR Marketplace”), Rent the Runway’s Shopify-powered premium marketplace. The RTR Marketplace Privacy Policy supplements and incorporates by reference the main Rent the Runway Privacy Policy, available at https://www.renttherunway.com/privacy (“Rent the Runway Privacy Policy”).
We may change the Rent the Runway Privacy Policy or RTR Marketplace Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the updated policy. 2. Rent the Runway Privacy Policy
When you access or use the RTR Marketplace, Rent the Runway will collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process information about you as described in the Rent the Runway Privacy Policy, available at https://www.renttherunway.com/privacy. This RTR Marketplace Privacy Policy supplements the Rent the Runway Privacy Policy by providing additional disclosures about our data practices that apply specifically to your access or use of the RTR Marketplace.
We encourage you to review the Rent the Runway Privacy Policy to learn more about the information we collect; how we use, process, and disclose your information; and your privacy choices; and additional privacy rights, such as the right to access, correct, or delete your data, that you may have depending on where you live.
3. Relationship with Shopify
RTR Marketplace is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of RTR Marketplace in order to provide and improve the RTR Marketplace for you. Information you submit to RTR Marketplace will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify as well as third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside, in order to provide and improve RTR Marketplace for you. In addition, to help protect, grow, and improve our business, we may use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data and information obtained from your interactions with RTR Marketplace, along with other merchants and with Shopify. To provide these enhanced features, Shopify may make use of personal information collected about your interactions with RTR Marketplace, along with other merchants, and with Shopify. In these circumstances, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including for responding to your requests to exercise your rights over use of your personal information for these purposes. 4. Relationship with RTR Marketplace Featured Brands
RTR Marketplace features a premium curation of items from third-party brands selected by our buying team. You understand that by placing an order with RTR Marketplace, you authorize and direct Rent the Runway to transmit your contact and order information to the brand or brands whose products you purchase. This includes any information you provide to RTR when making a purchase on RTR Marketplace, including but not limited to your name, contact and delivery information, the item(s) you purchased, the contents or outcome of any services you request for your order (e.g., shipping preferences, customer service interactions, return requests, refund requests, item damage or other troubleshooting information). Brands will use, share, and retain this information to fulfill your order, provide customer service, facilitate returns, and as otherwise provided in each brand’s own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
You understand that the brands are responsible for the processing of your personal information, including for responding to your requests to exercise your rights over use of your personal information handled by the brand.
5. Third Party Websites and Links
RTR Marketplace may at times provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security policies and other terms and conditions. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on these sites. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, including information you share on third-party social networking platforms may also be viewable by other of those third-party platforms without limitation as to its use by us or by a third party. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators, except as disclosed on RTR Marketplace.
